I purchased a few years ago and still use it all the time… in the office to block out noisy coworkers, on airplanes to block out screaming kids, in hotel rooms to block out ventilation systems that turn on and off all night, and at home to block out the husband’s football game. Listening to white noise is much more effective at blocking annoying sounds than “noise canceling headphones,” which I previously tried. Another reviewer mentions an alternative white noise MP3 download that is cheaper. I listened to both, and in my opinon, this one has a slightly more pleasant and relaxing sound – the pitch is a bit lower. This is well worth the money.

I purchased this MP3 which is a little over an hour to deal with extraneous noise at work. It works well enough if you don’t have interuptions or phone calls. The sound you hear on the clip is continuous throughout the hour – nothing changes. However, why spent $[...] when you can get Joe Baker’s download of almost the exact same noise for $0.89 cents? I wish I had discovered Joe Baker before I bought this ‘white noise’ version (1 hour and 13 minutes). It pays to shop around.
Also, I cannot directly link-by-review to Joe Baker’s white noise, but this link should work:
